  Columbus
I have been all over the US working for my company and even had the luck to be sent to Germany twice. I have been to places that were beautiful and the job was horrid, places that were scary but the location was wonderful, places were both the job and the location were great, and naturally places were the job and the place was something I'd rather not remember.

I cannot say that Columbus, OH is the best place I have ever been and this job is far from the best...but there is something about being back in your home state. Sure, Columbus is not Cleveland but I have never been lucky enough to commission where I grew up. The nice thing is that Ohio is Ohio and there is something about being in the home state.

It is been quite common in the last couple of years to be quite nostalgic about the big O and my desire to maybe someday live here again.

Comments:
What is it about Ohio that's different from Michigan? I've had a similar feeling about Michigan, but I've always been comparing it to somewhere urban or tropical and non-midwestern. So the things that I was nostaligic for were the nature and the midwestern mentality. I'm not sure, romantic notions of "home" aside*, I could discriminate Ohio from Michigan. So I'm curious about what it is about Ohio that makes you nostalgic for it.

*I admit that I have a fair bit of this romantic nostaligia, but that's another story.

Coincidentally, my brother is going to be moving to Ohio in the very near future... I'll be interested to see if he develops a love of the state. Other than having a fine dive site I haven't found anything that truly draws me there but I haven't really spent much time there.

I used to go there quite a bit. My father grew up in Cleveland and growing up we used to visit my Grandma Heidemann there.
