  Leave...Get Out
A couple of weeks ago I was looking forward (in time, not in anticipation) to when I would have to rake the leaves. Nice Kate is very much in a family way at this point I knew I would be out there alone this year. So what to do?

Last year I semi-cheated by raking a large portion of my front yard leaves out into the street and letting the winds take them from my yard. Seeing how so many of my neighbor's leaves end up in mine I thought it not to unfair. That would help again but is not very neighborly year over year.

So I decided that I would get a bagger for my mower and see if I could leverage my current equipment. This would allow me to compact the leaves some before putting them in bags or the bin.

Kate was very pooh-pooh on the idea. She did that think that it would work very well.

I have here today to tell you that it works quite well. Sure there are some leaf particles that do not go into the bag and fall down into the lawn, but that is not too bad. If one wanted a second or third pass can be done and a lot of those bits get sucked up into the bag.

I may be spending more time but I am not working as hard. Now if I could only get both....

  No Excuses that I Know
Since the last time I posted (still inside of the last time Jason posted) lots and nothing have happened.

1. Caught a cold.

2. My friend Paul, now of Red China, was back in the USA and drove up to GR for a visit.

3. I got sent out of town to CA for a couple of days to help the site that we commissioned in June fix a couple of problems. Cold got so bad that I could barely talk.

4. Went home to Cleveland to have a baby shower for Kate and I from my mother. Cold continued to be really bad but started to clear up by Sunday.

5. I got sent to Indianapolis for 4 days so that I could baby sit a system. Seems like we were having some trouble there but the only thing that they wanted me to do was clear jams and then press the reset button. Sure, I could have done more but all they wanted was a baby sitter for the week. Cold was nearly gone.

6. I got sent to Louisville for a week to finish an installation. This was not so bad considering that in general the job was already a success so all we had to do was add a little more equipment and make a couple of adjustments. Cold was gone.

7. Kate went to Sarah Wiles' baby shower and I hung out with Chip. Then we went over to the chili cook-off that Jim V was having. Halfway thru the party the cold was back.

8. Got back to the office and had to do another week of regional office training. By Tuesday the cold was so bad that I nearly went thru a whole box of kleenex. But then by Thursday it was gone again.

9. So far this week we had to do 2 days of home office training and the cold has been only an occasional sneeze and a slightly runny nose.

Sure this does not make up for nearly 4 weeks of no posts, but this is all you get for now.
