Action by Inaction Last Monday the requisition for the position in the Development Engineering group was finally posted. Not that I was super eager, but by the end of the day I had done my part and applied to the position on our online system. HR told me that I had to get my manager's permission in order to interview. So on Tuesday I told my manager that I was interested in a position in DevEng and that I would like his permission to interview.

I have yet to get that permission.

They claim everyone is too busy and the Engineering Director is out of town.

That is fine and all, but if I had walked into my manager's office and told him this was my two weeks notice they would have to let me go.

It seems to me like they are thinking that if they procrastinate long enough they can keep me around and continue to make me do their bidding. I am getting to the point where it is time to get HR involved again and push this along.

I also think that they are going to try and offer my something to make me stay. Unless that something is a guarantee of 5% or less travel then I doubt they will be successful. No amount of money will make me miss my wife and child less.  ¶ 08:13
