  Mac
So the blog-tet has asked, "why Mac."

I do not know if that is as easy to answer as some of life's other questions, i.e. why do men like breasts.

I think the short of it is: I have always thought of myself as an individual and this supports that. Now, one may ask, "does going with the current trend make one an individual?" I do not know if Apple and Mac can be considered a trend. While some market research has indicated that Apple's market share is on the rise, and that public trust of MS is on the decline I do not know if this implies that Macs are trendy whith the general public or is it just the iPod.

Another reason is the robust nature of OS X. Built on the solid foundation of UNIX makes me feel really secure, while the XP, and Vista, foundation make me think of Windows 3.1.

Maybe I have put a foot wrong, but I am pretty sure (and so are my dollars - following the put your money where your mouth is slogan) that have not. I admit that is have a bit of a learning curve, a safety net in my work laptop, and a software deficet but in the 36 hours that I had the iMac before I left for LA I was quite please with what I have.

Plus, it was quite gratifying to see Brian D. look at the iMac and be amazed that the whole computer was only the screen.

Comments:
Though I am not, myself, a Mac owner I can certainly appreciate why you'd go that route. Keep us posted on your feeling about the new computer. Oh - and I agree with the happiness related to OS X. They broke backward compatibility which makes developing an OS far FAR easier. If Microsoft was willing to do the same they could make a much better OS (better than their other operating systems, not better than OS X).
